    APL - Athletic Propulsion Labs

Athletic Propulsion Labs may have launched the first trainer to be banned from the NBA in 64 years, but that’s not the only thing that makes this brand the APL shoes different. Experts in combining street-worthy style with performance and technology, APL running shoes increase speed and absorb shock.

Plus, the APL shoes are all rigorously tested by some of the world’s finest athletes. Not bad for a brand that was dreamed up in a college dorm room.
Founded by identical twins, Adam and Ryan Goldston, the APL shoes hit the sneaker scene back in March 2009 and has made a name for itself since.

Having hailed from a family already well-versed in the sportswear world (their dad oversaw the launch of the iconic 90s Reebok Pump and later became COO of L.A Gear), the brothers spent years developing a trainer that would give athletes an edge over the competition and launched the Concept 1 basketball shoe in June 2010.

Proven to make you jump higher, the APL shoes were the first shoes to ever be banned from the NBA for ‘providing an undue competitive advantage’. Since APL Athletic Propulsion Labs has carved out a name for itself in the highly competitive trainer market and holds multiple patents for its revolutionary Load 'N Launch® Technology.

Another renowned feature is the Propelium® midsole/outsole, which is used in styles such as APL Techloom Phantom and APL Techloom Breeze.
Engineered for athletes, APL running shoes combine breathable mesh uppers with shock-absorbing Propelium® soles. Its Load ‘N Launch technology is designed to increase the vertical leap of an athlete, for greater jumps on the court and a higher reach when it matters most.

Expect maximum energy return, toe-off propulsion and increased speed when stepping into a pair of APL shoes.
Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom Pro Running Sneakers: The TechLoom Pro is the latest version of the classic APL running shoe. It is their original design and best-priced trainers. The one-piece woven upper gives a distinctive visual appearance with the different knit patterns, colour palettes, and intricacy. A very clean, sleek looking trainer that delivers on both the fashion and performance front and is arguably the most versatile of APL’s sneakers.

Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom Breeze: The APL TechLoom Breeze is the brand's newest running silhouette and lightest ever shoe. Indeed it is as light as any running shoe on the market. It features a seamless, high elastic stretch rebound Techloom upper that moves with your feet, and is my favourite of all the APL knits. An internal speed lacing system gives a bit of extra support versus the Bliss.

Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom Phantom Trainers: The APL TechLoom Phantom shoes have an engineered upper that will move four ways with you, making it ideal for weaving through pedestrians on those summer city runs or a dynamic HIIT session. A neoprene tongue with an integrated collar offers a really secure, snug fit in a sleek low cut silhouette. The TechLoom Phantom is where fashion and athletics intersect. If you're really in it for the fashion, APL occasionally releases unique calf hair versions of the Phantom (which tend to elicit love or hate reactions).

Athletic Propulsion Labs Bliss: The APL Techloom Bliss trainers are free of laces, with a slip-on design. The upper has a satin elastic band across the arch which stretches and moves with your feet. They look amazing with the contrasting satin material of the band and have built a serious celeb following in the short period since launch, including Oprah featuring them as part of her annual ‘Favourite Things’ last year.
