Under Armour began with the simple plan of making a superior t-shirt. Twenty years later, they dominate the sportswear industry. Their extensive line includes Under Armour compression tights, athletic shorts, and running tops. Under Armour jackets outwit the elements and Under Armour men's shoes stand up to furious training. And let's not forget how the story began: Under Armour t-shirts. If you're serious about your athletic goals, Under Armour is one step ahead and will help you get there.
Founded in 1996 by Kevin Plank, a former University of Maryland football player, Under Armour was formed to create an exceptional top. Tired of having to changed his sweat-soaked tees between time, Plank wanted a tank that would wick away perspiration, dried quickly and enhanced performance. And so the first Under Armour HeatGeat t-shirt was created in his grandmother’s basement in Washington DC. First selling them on the road from his car, the tops were soon picked up by a football team and the company moved out of its first home and into an all new HQ in Baltimore. Today, it’s not just Under Armour t-shirts that are a staple in professional trainers and gym enthusiasts wardrobes alike, but shorts, compression tights, hoodies and under armour base layers all part of the collection.
